Tea Time

Recently on IG, Bekah (@miss_mouse_middleton) mentioned that a styled shoot should include teacups, ribbons and vintage books. This stuck in my head and so it came to be!

For the Love of Anne…

8B3C1121-732E-4AD5-8BAF-20956DCDF605(Above) “For the Love of Anne” is currently featured in the Somerset Life Magazine Winter 2016 Issue. I was blessed to have 3 amazing ladies to be “Anne(s)” in this ‘Inspired by Anne of Green Gables’ Styled shoot! In my neck of the woods, the magazine can be found at Barnes n Noble and maybe Costco. For more information or to order a copy, go here: https://stampington.com/Somerset-Life-Winter-2016

I know many of you ladies have seen most of the photos on my blog or on IG (@melaniebeilner) but I decided to share more of the “out-takes” here today (they are still good!)

These 3 (now) 16 year olds are busy young ladies with school and jobs but someday I hope to get them back together again for another shoot. They all were so cute and sweet together! Josie, Emilie and Brielle.

Sunset Walk on Willie’s Lake Road

walkCollage1

“…all the little sweetnesses of life sprinkling the road.” L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Ingleside.

I want to share my walk with you…At Sunset I walk toward the Sun -toward the West on Willie’s Lake Road. I pass by houses, fences, fields, trees, ditches, barns, cows and even some garbage and unpleasantness. But here I will just share the lovelies that caught my eye.

SunsetWalk Collage2

A walk is very pleasant experience and a blessing (as some folks are unable to walk due to physical disabilities or unsafe areas to walk). I am thankful for walking.

IMG_5886fallfernsweb

The evening light is ever-changing and the sun hides and then re-emerges. There are signs of Fall -like these ferns and signs of Summer: Mini daisies below…

IMG_5895minidaisiebouquetwe

On my walk I breathe in deep the fresh outdoorsy cooler air. I smell the scents of evergreens, freshly cut grass and composting apples.

IMG_5888fluffhandweb

I dream of lovely dreams and often get my greatest ideas. I pick a wildflower or two. Today I stick them in my pocket:

IMG_5883pocketbouquetweb

I count my blessings when I am tempted to count my woes.

I dream of a Kindred Friends Picnic here in this field (where I am now trespassing!)

IMG_5903dandelionpuffsunset

I want to frolic in this field of puffs and dreams…

Time to turn around and go home. The light is dimming out of doors and shining ever so brightly and warmly indoors.

My walk was a tonic but home looks ever so warm and beckoning.

Thanks for joining me on my walk. (some other time, I’ll share my sunrise walk with you past Willie’s Lake)

Summer’s End

Simply Lovely Styled Photography; Anne of Green Gables

I’ve been meaning to come visit here more often -Kindred Spirits Club- and now that a new Season is upon us I hope I will make it a routine! I do so love it here with you lovely ladies!

I have already been contemplating Fall and all it’s simple, but glorious, treasures. I love the Seasons and I believe there is “…a time for every Season.”

Today, I’m celebrating Summer’s End; bittersweetness indeed!

This Summer was a big one for me as I planned several deluxe styled shoots and my photography went from amateur to professional. I’m glad I pushed myself and it was a delightful Season with many gorgeous photos to show for it.Simply Lovely Styled Photography

However, I find myself burnt out and have been pondering what my next Season of Creativity needs to look like. I am more of an introvert and gain energy for life from quiet time, walks and one-on-one get-togethers rather than large groups.

Simply Lovely Styled Photography

My next Season of Creativity needs to be Integrated with my everyday, real life. I need to Connect with my family and friends. I want to embrace the WILD of Fall. and those are my words for Fall 2015: Integrate. Connect. Wild.

Simply Lovely Styled Photography

Dreamin: -This Summer I felt that “pieces of the puzzle” were coming together for my book; Country Cottage Living; ABC’s of Summer. I collected all my photos needed and notes and began Graphic Design (just last week!). I soon realized after a couple days that this project was going to require a LOT of concentration and quiet time on the computer. I still want to do it but I think I’m postponing this project. I do not want to spend all my days on the computer. -Sometimes Dreams change. -Sometimes we change.

Dream Garden Woodworks Rustic Table

My husband built me this outdoor rustic table this Summer. I’m completely loving it and hope to use if for a variety of occasions; including more Kindred Creatives Gatherings/Workshops. (Someday, perhaps you all will join me here. We will talk of “Anne” and “Beatrix” and collaborate and drink TEA!

wildflowers foraged bouquet

and so, Goodbye Summer 2015. You have been good to me; you have taught me, you stirred in me new desires and new dreams. Hello Fall 2015! What is your theme word(s) for Fall?

(above, Sarah @hazelwoodforest, holding a bouquet of wildflowers I foraged on a nearby country road)

Kindred Spirit; Melanie! Introduction

Well, I was waiting for a “perfect” time to introduce myself with the perfect photos to accompany but that could take a while! So, I’m just doing it today!

I love it that this community of lovely women all are inspired by “Anne”! I couldn’t be more thrilled! I first found “Anne” in my early teen years and have never parted from her! I re-read the “Anne” books as well as other L.M. Montgomery books and any biographies I can get ahold of! I read this version earlier this year:

Lucy Maud Montgomery; The Gift of Wings by Mary Henley Rubio.
LM Montgomery; The Gift of Wings
It was amazing to read but also very sad 😦
As I get to know myself more, I realize how important Nature, taking walks, and having Creative Time are all essential to my well-being and happiness.
I’m a Wife and Mom and a “Creative!” Currently, my creativity includes Styling Photoshoots. I’d love to get published in Magazines and one day have a published book; but more importantly, I want to live a peaceful life with no regrets! My family is very important and it is a balancing act to love and serve them but also follow my dreams.
“We pay a price for everything we get or take in this world; and although ambitions are well worth having, they are not to be cheaply won, but exact their dues of work and self denial, anxiety and discouragement.”

L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

“…everybody should have a purpose in life and pursue it faithfully…we must first make sure that it is a worthy purpose…”

L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

I see more “nuggets” of wisdom each time I read “Anne.” and in my current season of life I wrestle with these questions; is my creative dream worthy? and is it worth it? and if not,

Which direction is worthy? I want to encourage women and evoke hope and gratitude in my work. I don’t think I’ll always know -so that is what keeps me seeking -always pushing myself to reveal what is truly important even though I gravitate toward “pretty” pictures and producing “pretty” pictures. This quote comes to mind from the “Little Women” movie:

If you feel your value lies in being merely decorative, I fear that someday you might find yourself believing that’s all that you really are. Time erodes all such beauty, but what it cannot diminish is the wonderful workings of your mind: Your humor, your kindness, and your moral courage. These are the things I cherish so in you. - Marmee, Little Women: Celebrity Movie T V Show, Little Women, Morals Courage, 100 Movie, Google Search, Womenadorávei Mulheres1994, Littlewomen, Women 1994, Periodic Movie

(Love this movie BTW!)

I feel so strongly about the result my creativity has/will have on others. I feel responsible to convey positivity and NOT jealousy or discontent.

Do you ladies think about the results of your work, your creativity? I know I’m a “deep” thinker so no worries if you do not!!

So, this post is a bit random but that’s just how my thoughts are today! Here are a couple recent photos of a one day camping trip with my family on Camano Island. I had the opportunity to make a pretty table with collected seashells and foraged flowers. I’m so thankful for that time and hope to do it more often! Bye for Now, Melanie; Country Cottage Living
